Go to bed obviously means go to sleep (it doesn't even necessarily have to happen on a bed!)
and go to the bed just means go over to the bed and sit on it.
It wouldn't be said that often. Maybe if you were in a matress store and the salesman said, "Go to the bed you like and test it out!"

"go to bed" means "go to sleep",
"go to the bed" means this, "go to the bed" and stay there.
