W naszej native kulturze polskiej im dłuższe i bardziej zagmatwane tym lepiej - jednym słowem: tak pisać aby zwykły Kowalski nie wiedział co czyta.
W angielskim lepiej używać krótszych zdań za to sensownych.

piter_c - I tak też staram się robić kiedy mogę. Ale tak jak można pisać prostymi zdaniami tak nie da się czytać w ten sam sposób :).

Taka też była moja pierwsza myśl, ale potem pomyślałem że "it" pochodzi od resource (scarce and valuable)... . Zdanie pochodzi z pewnego kursu business English tak że jest duża szansa, że jest ok.

Tu nie ma problemu i to co piszesz w komentarzu jest oczywiste. Spójrzmy na to zdanie inaczej.
1. You are up-to-date with the trends in human capital management.
2. You probably know the most scarce and valuable resource these days.
3a. This is the talented doers that are this resource. = 3b. This resource are the talented doers.
W trzecim zdaniu (b) próbuję pokazać o co mi chodzi. Niestety nie potrafię podłożyć pod to teorii gramatycznej. Czy jest tu jakiś ekspert w tym zakresie? A może więcej osób uzna, że zdanie jest złe, żeby mnie ostatecznie przekonać?
Powyższe zdanie jest według mnie poprawne.
(Zaznaczam kolego na początku, że akurat przy tym pytaniu nie jestem jednak do końca pewny, za co przepraszam.)

Powyższe 'it' nie jest tym samym 'it' jak w zdaniu: It is a boy.
Jeśli 'it' pełni funkcje tzw. introductory, to może po nim wystąpić np. noun phrase z rzeczownikiem w liczbie mnogiej.
