What is the difference in meaning between the two passive forms in the sentence "Ich bin befördert worden and mein Gehalt wurde erhöht"? Why the forms were not the same in both parts of the sentence?

The forms are not the same because the first part talks about the result (now promoted), and the second part just tells what happened in the past (salary was raised). So different passive forms fit better for each idea.
