Pytania tworzymy na zasadzie inwersji, w następujący sposób:
odmieniony czasownik have + podmiot + got + reszta zdania

Has he got a house? = Czy on ma dom?

Liczba mnoga

Uwaga: Czasowniki have got i have w znaczeniu "mieć", "posiadać" mogą być używane zamiennie i w żadnym stopniu nie wpływa to na znaczenie zdania.

I have got a sister. / I have a sister. = Ja mam siostrę.
My mother has got three children. / My mother has three children. = Moja mama ma trójkę dzieci.

Trzeba jednak pamiętać, że pytania, przeczenia i krótkie odpowiedzi z użyciem tych czasowników tworzymy zupełnie inaczej.

1) Have got

- Have you got a sister?

- Yes, I have.

- Has your mother got three children?

- No, she hasn't.

2) Have

- Does your mother have three children?

- No, she doesn't.

- Do you have a sister?

- Yes, I do.

Uwaga: jeśli w zdaniach twierdzących chcemy zastosować formę skróconą czasownika have, musimy dodać do niego got.

I've got a sister. = Mam siostrę. (NIE: I've a sister.)
