In the local dialect, Jamtish, it has been named Storgläffs'n "the great yelper" by a locally known poet, this is however not a popularly used name.

In the early 1990's, when he first started releasing cassettes of his songs, he was an indie-rock weirdo: an agitated yelper with a long-suffering acoustic guitar and a library's worth of prickly lyrics.

Although it's highly distressing to spend a long evening next to someone who regards whooping joyfully and clapping loudly as perfectly acceptable public behaviour, it's even more disconcerting to find that you are sitting within spitting distance of a yelper.

Neo-80's bands like New York's Interpol and the Rapture (whose Luke Jenner is the most pronounced yelper of the lot) write darkly reflective songs that hark back to the Cure's early albums, weaving sharp guitar or keyboards over anxious, danceable beats.
