Elodea nuttallii is a species of waterweed known by the common name western waterweed or Nuttall's waterweed.

High levels of invasive alien waterweed species, Canadian waterweed (Elodea canadensis) and Nuttall's waterweed (Elodea nuttalli) if left unchecked, will continue to spread and overwhelm other native aquatic plants.

An inventory of aquatic plants in the lake in 1998 resulted in a list of some 30 species, including Branched Bur-reed and Nuttall's waterweed (the latter introduced in Europe during the 20th century and relatively new in Sweden.)

Common aquatic plants in the water column includes Rigid Hornwort and Yellow Water-lily coupled with a presence of Nuttall's waterweed, Frogbit, Common Duckweed, White Waterlily, Amphibious Bistort, and four species of Pondweeds.
