"Its provisions are all factors that can help tip the scales in favor of remediating and redeveloping sites," said Ira Whitman, who heads an environmental consulting and engineering concern bearing his name in East Brunswick.

It now produces lime for agricultural lime used for farming canola and grains; agricultural lime is used for remediating soil acidity, a major problem threatening the productivity and sustainability of agriculture in many parts of the state.
