nervure

It was first noted in Nervure, the French journal of psychiatry in 2004.

The undersides are chocolate colour, while the nervure, the lines between them and the submarginal line are black.

The median nervure ends at this fold, where it is joined by a cross nervure.

The red spot at the base of the hind wings is not completely divided by the curved black stripe which runs up along the precostal nervure.

Nearly resembling the male, but on the posterior wings a space on each side of the large ocellus below the costal nervure is bright ferruginous.

Fore wing bright pink; the costal edge ochreous; a slight white streak on median nervure and bases of veins arising from it.

Uppersides of the wings are transparent with iridiscent light reflections and the margins, except the inner margin of the anterior wing, are brown, while the nervure is black.

The posterior wings have the outer margin broadly bordered with purple-brown, enclosign five irregular transparent spots, that near the apex larger than the rest, and intersected by a nervure.

The under surface of the primary wings is black, with the summits clearer, and with two white spots between the first and third nerrales, nearer the median nervure than the outer margin.

Anterior wings with three oval pale biscuit-coloured spots, one towards the apex, above the upper discoidal nervule, and two others on either side of the middle median nervule adjacent to the median nervure.

The male (the underside of which is figured) has the cream-coloured spot faintly continued on the upperside as far as the submedian nervure, and on the underside it is narrower at the inner margin.

On the hind wing the last discal white spot reaches mostly to the submedian nervure (vein 1), the anterior one is very large in the male, small or divided into two spots, or obliterated in the female...".

Female resembles the male, but the anterior wings are rounder towards the apex ; on those wings there is an additional spot above the lowest subcostal nervule, and an elongate spot in the cell on the inner side of the median nervure.

Fore wing with a broad white interrupted band from the subcostal nervure opposite the origin of veins 10 and 11, extended obliquely to the tornus, and a second short pre-apical similar band; both bands composed of detached irregularly indented broad streaks in the interspaces.

Wings beneath paler than above ; anterior wings with the disc darkest, the inner area palest, and with a long tuft of coarse pale ochraceous hairs on the submedian nervure ; posterior wings with a transverse discal pale ochraceous fascia.

The fore wing is typically without markings, in some specimens with a patch of sulphur-yellow on either side of base of median nervure, in the very yellow examples the tornal area is often widely greenish white, in others (Catopsilia catilla, Cramer) it bears a spot variable in size on the discocellulars.
