The opening of the demolition ground and military training institute will take place on 4 November 2005.

But demolition ground to halt when, as part of the coalition government’s attempt to close the huge deficit in Britain’s public finances, the £5 billion ($8.1 billion) programme was cancelled eight years early.

To achieve this, an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Training Centre and Demolition Ground opened in November in Lohur, 30 kilometres from Dushanbe.

Within Task 1 the following projects are complete: reconstruction of Lohur Military Training Camp; construction of the intermediate ammunition storage facility; and establishment of the demolition ground including demolition pits, fire points, and a road to them.
